FAQs
I HAVE NO UPPER BODY STRENGTH, CAN I STILL DO POLE?
YES! Pole dance is a fitness journey and everyone’s looks different. Our “Intro to Pole” courses are designed for absolute beginners with zero dance/fitness experience. As part of classes you will naturally build the strength and mobility needed for pole.
Do i need to lose weight first?
NO! It is a myth that to do pole you have to already look and move like a ballerina. Pole is for everyone regardless of your size, age (18+), sex or background.
what should i wear to class?
For your first classes it is absolutely fine to wear a t-shirt and sweatpants/joggers. As you progress to more advanced techniques it will become necessary to use your skin as a form of grip and so yoga shorts and a sports top is ideal. At Inverted we encourage you to wear whatever you are comfortable in and to also express yourself as much or as little as you are comfortable with. You may find some of our more experienced students in quite revealing outfits during class. If you prefer to stay covered there are a range of grippy clothing options which can be purchased from pole-specific brands which our instructors can help you to source.
if i cannot make my usual class can i come to another one?
YES. If you know that you cannot make a class that you have booked (whether this is a single drop in class or part of an 8-week course) as long as you cancel on the app with at least 12 hours notice you will automatically receive a credit for this class which can be used to book an alternative session.
can men join classes?
YES. We are a mixed sex studio and half of our instructor team is male.
can i take pictures and videos in class?
YES, as long as anyone who may be in your video has given consent to be. Recording your activity in class is a great way to track your progress and correct your technique. That being said, we would stress that not everyone in a pole class is happy to be recorded. If you do intend to film yourself then please let whoever may be in the background know about this first and offer them the chance to step out of shot briefly. We would also ask that you save time at the end of the class for any recordings.
can i bring a friend?
NO. We do not allow spectators in classes, only those who have booked into the class and wish to participate are allowed.
How do memberships work?
With our memberships, rather than pay for a single class or an 8-week course up front you pay a membership fee on the same day every 4 weeks. This splits up your payments and is also more cost effective than PAYG. Once you have purchased a membership, you can use this to book onto your desired course and any additional sessions that your membership entitles you to.
