find your style

the world of pole dance is beautiful and extremely varied. We offer a range of classes at inverted which allow you to tailor your own individual pole journey based on your preferences.

redefine what’s possible

If you’re new to the world of pole, it can be quite confusing to navigate the landscape and terminology and you may find blogs/articles on the debate between what is sporty vs sexy pole.

Our core courses (Intro to Pole up to Elite level) focus on pole technique - this include spins, shapes and combinations which help to get you acquainted with how to manoeuvre your body around the pole and in the air. We will do some elements of flow/choreography in these classes from time to time but you can consider these classes to be mainly of the “sporty” variety.

Your first class will acquaint you with the pole, how to grip etc however, before you know it you will be climbing, inverting and hanging from the pole using just your legs.

back to the roots of pole

Pole dance as we know it was pioneered by club dancers in the later decades of the 20th century who took this art form from the clubs and into studios for the public to learn for the first time. Over the years these teachings have been passed down time and time again and at Inverted we embrace and encourage connecting with the pole and finding your own style of movement.

Our flow/choreography classes are perfect for anyone who loves to dance or for anyone who is curious. Heels are not always required but heavily encouraged and if the thought of dancing in 8 inch platform boots is daunting then rest assured you are in safe hands. Our instructors are experts in heels technique and will carefully breakdown the technicalities of each move to make every student feel confident and comfortable in their movements.

We understand that these types of classes can be daunting signing up is the first step to discovering a sense of confidence and sensuality which can be life-changing.

connecting mind and body

It’s a myth that you need to have loads of upper body strength or be able to do the splits to do pole. Pole dancing is a brilliant full body workout and your strength and flexibility will naturally develop over time.

To help you along the way, we offer a range of strength and flexibility classes. These off-the-pole classes are the perfect compliment to your pole training and our regulars will testify to how much they have improved their skills with regular strength/flexibility training. They are also a great way to centre your body and mind, providing long lasting benefits outside of the studio too.

We love to give our students the opportunity to learn from as many different instructors as possible and are pleased to welcome multiple world class pole instructors for guest workshops each year.

If you are an instructor who plans on travelling to Belfast and are interested in hosting a workshop at Inverted please email us at invertedpoleacademy@gmail.com and we will be happy to discuss how we may be able to facilitate this.
